About Ana Flores

Ana Flores graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Baccalaureate of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. She subsequently completed her Master of Science Degree in Continuing Professional Development at the School of Health and Social Care, University of Greenwich.
Ana is an Occupational Therapist, registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and is also a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists.
Ana has collaborated with consumers, employees and organizations to work through transitions. She was an active member of a repatriation team that evaluated, planned for and developed services in Ontario for Canadians living with the effects of an acquired brain injury who were receiving rehabilitation services in the United States. She played a key role in designing supported independent living environments, developing alliances between community agencies to meet the needs of consumers and establishing programs and protocols to provide quality services while maintaining worker satisfaction.
Ana held a Status Appointment at the University of Toronto, Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy from 1994 to 2003.
Ana is committed to life long learning and has contributed to ongoing learning by lecturing to occupational therapy students, facilitating problem-based learning groups, coordinating neurorehabilitation courses and problem-based learning groups, teaching the American Academy for the Certification of Brain Injury Specialists program and presenting at various national conferences including the Pacific Coast Brain Injury Conference and the New Beginnings Brain Injury Conference. Ana co-authored a chapter in Introduction to Disability, McColl and Bickenbach (1998) and is a columnist with Life with Kids.
Ana’s coaching expertise extends to consumers, employees, individuals and groups. She has been noted for her skill in group facilitation, understanding the consumer’s perspective and facilitating the individual to move forward on his/her goals with compassion and respect.
